Matthew Gouldie aka Gold Digger

I have loved my experience in South Africa.

I decided to come on this trip because I wanted to be a part of the link between Balwearie High School and Welcome Primary School. I also wanted to make a difference to people's lives that are less fortune than us.

I feel I have changed as a person. I feel that I am more confident in myself. I think this has happened because of the people I have been around. The people on this trip have been amazing. Everyone is so easy to talk to and have a laugh with.

My favourite part of trip was the Langa Township tour. It was interesting to see the living conditions of the people who live there. The people who lived there were very nice and it was so great that they let us see how they live. It was an eye opening experience.

The primary school was a great experience. It's good to know that even though I'm not there I'm still making a difference to their lives. Mr Jacobs done so well to set up the link between the two schools and helping the children having the best future possible. The GCU is also brilliant. It is helping the children stay off the streets and get them into sport. Mario set up a great program.

Overall it was an awesome experience I will never forget. Thanks to the staff and the rest of the pupils for making it a great experience.
