Whale spotting Hermanus

After six days of early mornings we were finally granted a lie in until 8 am (what a treat!) We started the day off with Coco Pops, Cheerios and milk before heading off to Hermanus for some whale spotting.

It was very windy, a real contrast in the weather from the rest of our trip. This surprised some of us and we really didn't expect it as witnessed by the number of us wearing shorts. Much to our delight, before even getting off the bus, we spotted our first whale and witnessed (Mrs) Murdy almost wet herself with excitement. At first we only saw the tail of the whales, but as we patiently waited, we saw two whales jumping out of the water, and we all crowded round with our cameras in order to capture the moment.

After walking in a complete circle we arrived at a cafe for hot chocolates and milkshakes and then returned back to the buses. The Booth Mobile was fast asleep in a matter of minutes whereas Air McGuck was in full rave mode listening to Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball and Say Something by A Great Big World.

We then arrived at Somerset Mall for a healthy lunch at Nandos followed by some froyo.
